This workshop is suitable for experienced printmakers or those who have completed Monoprinting on a Gel Plate: The Fundamentals. Explore resist and transfer printing using a variety of methods, including laser prints of your own drawings or photographs, reverse painting, and charcoal transfers. Participants will also experiment with combining multiple techniques and layers in a single-pull print, adding colour with Pan Pastels and felt markers, and using the gel plate in a more painterly way. Some familiarity with the basics of gel plate printing is recommended. This workshop may be taken on its own by participants with prior gel plate experience, or together with Monoprinting on a Gel Plate: The Fundamentals on Saturday, September 5. Jennifer will provide extra acrylic paints, stencils, stamps, rollers, etc., but participants must bring their own gel plate, brayer, paper, and some paints. Jennifer will email registered participants with a detailed supply list and information about the laser print transfers.
