Short Introduction to Printmaking: Linocut
Service Description
Course Description: This workshop aims to provide an introduction to printmaking and the tools needed for creating linocuts. This technique involves drawing or transferring an image onto a linoleum plate, leaving a mark on the surface that will later be inked. The image is then transferred by applying pressure to another surface, such as paper, allowing for multiple reproductions. At the end of the workshop, participants will obtain their own linocut and a series of five to seven prints. Bio: Sol Figueroa is a Mexican printmaker who pursues disidentification and the exploration of historic memory, love, and mourning. With an academic background in Political and Social studies and a strong inclination for popular education has participated in exhibitions in cities such as Toronto CA, Colorado USA, Mexico City, Puebla MX, and Bogotá, CO.
